Google : impossible de rediriger un site pénalisé en toute sécurité

Ce vendredi 20 mai, a animé un Hangout sur Google+. Durant près d'une heure, il a répondu aux questions des webmasters, nous en apprenant davantage notamment sur les pénalités

C'est à la 7ème minute que le sujet quelque peu épineux a été abordé, lorsqu'un webmaster s'est adressé au de Google dans le but de savoir s'il existait un moyen 100% sécurisé de rediriger les internautes depuis un site web pénalisé vers un nouveau sans que ce dernier ne soit à son tour affecté.

Question à laquelle John Mueller a répondu :

That is kind of a tricky situation because on the one hand you want to say I want to redirect everyone to my new web site and on the other hand, you are saying I don't want people to really recognize that they are being redirected.

I don't know if I have any great advice there other than doing crazy stuff which you probably… I don't know if you really want to do that. I mean, you've probably seen a lot of those tricks already.

It gets very close to cloaking, where you are saying users see this behavior and engines see something completely different. And that is something I'd try to avoid. It goes against the webmaster guidelines. So maybe a pop up like you have it now is your best approach at the moment.

Selon lui, donc, c'est une situation délicate que de vouloir rediriger des internautes tout en ne souhaitant pas qu'ils le remarquent. Pour lui, ces techniques s'apparentent à celle du cloaking, un procédé qui va à l'encontre de la ligne de conduite que doit suivre les webmasters.
